COPD Awareness Month

November was COPD Awareness month and November 19th was World COPD Day!

During November, RHAMC worked with elected officials to raise awareness of COPD by providing a resolution to declare November as COPD Awareness Month.

Will County Executive, Larry Walsh presented a proclamation to Margaret Rogers of Lockport and Kristine Trost of Provena St. Joseph's Hospital. The presentation was made at the Pulmonary Rehabilitation clinic at Provena St. Joseph's Hospital in Joliet, IL.

DuPage County Commissioner, Brien Sheahan presented a proclamation to constituent Florence Faso of Naperville at the DuPage County Board meeting in Wheaton, IL. During the presentation, Florence Faso spoke with the board members about her experience living with a new diagnosis of COPD.

On November 25th, Mayor Pradel of Naperville, IL made a visit to Edward Hospital's pulmonary Rehabilitation program and presented a proclamation to the staff members and pulmonary patients.

If you would like to help us raise awareness of COPD in your community by meeting with your elected officials or by scheduling a group presentation about RHAMC's COPD Initiative, please contact Dyette Hernandez, Director of COPD Initiatives at (312) 628-0227 or
